In The Beginning

In 2017 Activities Organiser & Dementia Ambassador Lynn Smith founded SMILE.

Smiles aim was to bring people of all ages together to provide activities for elderly people in care homes & elderly people in the community.

Katharine & Lynn work together hand in hand launching various annual community projects.

Each project is to encourage the community to link together & have fun while helping Smile raise funds to buy activities equipment of the elderly.

Lynn knew the task wasn't going to be easy, but with the ongoing support of people in the community SMILE has built its own Pay It Forward scheme.

Welcome to Our Journey...

Smile is a community Interest Company, non profit and is run by volunteers.

Smile was initially self funded by craft projects & fundraising.

In 2019 Uphall Community Center & Lodge Buchan St John No 636 kindly gave Smile a donation to help buy new activities equipment.

Lottery Support

In July 2020 Smile was awarded funds from the Community Fund.
